Polished plaster and microcement are modern decorative finishes used in interior design, but they have notable distinctions. Polished plaster is composed of slaked lime, marble dust, and other additives, with the option to include acrylics. It's applied in thin layers and then polished to achieve a smooth, reflective surface, offering a range of finishes from glossy to matte.
On the other hand, microcement is a composite material combining cement, fine aggregates, polymers, and additives. Applied in thin layers (typically 2-3mm thick), it provides a durable, seamless finish suitable for floors and walls, especially in moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Microcement also offers versatility in finish options, from smooth and contemporary to textured and rustic, depending on application techniques and sealant choices. The choice between the two would hinge on specific project requirements and desired aesthetics. -
